Often property managers desire someone with “handy man” skills that can plunge a toilet, re-glue a baseboard, touch up a scratch on painted molding, or tighten a hinge on a door. The building engineer can do these tasks, but a highly compensated engineer should be adding value on complex boiler, HVAC, and mechanical systems, preventive maintenance and contract management.
