Diamond vs. cubic zirconia
Homemade vs. store-bought
Homemade sweet tea vs. the bottled stuff
Fresh flowers vs. faux flowers
Electrostatic disinfecting vs. traditional disinfecting
Sometimes almost-the-right-thing will do the trick. Most often, however, the “real deal” is preferred. A few years back, my husband decided to get his first pair of hiking boots. He had recently gone hiking in his favorite pair of tennis shoes, only to realize afterwards that the excursion had nearly cost him the remaining tread on that pair (not to mention, they were not water resistant in the least so his socks were quite worse for wear).
The next week, he stopped by a big box store and was thrilled to find a pair of–supposedly–waterproof hiking boots for twenty-five dollars. His purchase in hand, he couldn’t wait to try them out on the trail. Our next camping trip arrived and out came the new boots. About a mile into the trail, he stopped to apply some blister tape. Three miles in, he tried retying the laces in the hopes that the fit would improve. Six miles in, he was cursing the day he bought those bargain boots!
As soon as we got home, he visited a nearby outdoor store and got fitted with a pair of name brand hiking boots. In the long run, he actually ended up spending more money than if he had just bought the right thing the first time. How do I know it was the right thing? Here we are five years later–he’s put hundreds of blister-free miles on that second pair of boots!
Sometimes almost-the-right-thing will do. If you’re throwing a party and need to pick up store-bought food rather than making something at home, that’s completely acceptable. The stakes aren’t too high. But if you’re looking around at your empty office building, church, school, medical facility, industrial building, or financial institution and considering how best to disinfect your facilities in the wake of the most socially-disruptive (and downright scary) pandemic of the past century, now is not the time to go with “almost-the-right-thing.”
Now is the time to prioritize proper disinfecting protocol. Sonlight Cleaning Services has over thirty years of experience in professional janitorial cleaning services. We are licenced and insured, our employees are background-checked and thoroughly trained, our supervisors have your best interests in mind. If you needed hiking boots that would withstand the abuses of a backwoods trail, you’d visit the experts at an outdoor store. If you need your facilities disinfected to the highest possible standard during an unprecedented national crisis, you want to call the experts at Sonlight. We won’t let Dallas/Fort Worth down when we’re needed most. Hang in there, folks–we’ll get through this together.
