The year was 2008 and my now-spouse found a creative way to say “I love you.” You see, I’m an extremely tidy person. Even living in a college dorm at the time, and with the fast pace of the academic and social life common to all college students, I always found time to rid my room of clutter. “A place for everything and everything in its place” has been my long-time mantra.
There was always one flaw in my practice, however. I am terrible about making the time to clean. If you think they’re the same thing, read on. Even though not a book was out of place in my room, the toilet had a perpetual mold ring and the sink had a halo of soap scum. Disgusting, right? Well if you’ve ever been in a college dorm, then you know it wasn’t too outside the norm.
Enter my wonderful fiance. One day, I discovered that he had stolen my keys and cleaned my bathroom for me. I’d never loved him more. Over a decade later and he still cleans our bathroom. A keeper, for sure!
When you manage a large facility, you probably are not giving heart-shaped balloons to every person who walks through the door. Luckily there are other ways to tell employees, clients, and visitors that you care (like a clean bathroom)! The past year has been tough on organizations of all kinds. Schools moved to virtual learning… churches worshiping online… commerce of most kinds taking a fast-track to online shopping… it’s safe to say everyone could use a little extra love this Valentine’s Day.
At Sonlight Cleaning Services, one way we say “we care” is by discarding the box-of-chocolates approach to your cleaning care routine. I don’t know about you, but I long ago discovered that in a box of chocolates, there are only so many I actually want. (Does anybody actually like those orange-flavored ones?!) It never made sense to me to pay for chocolates I didn’t want to eat. Nowadays I tell my husband exactly what kind of chocolate to buy: no money wasted and more chocolate for me!
When you call some cleaning companies, they want to hand you a package… you may not need (or want to pay for) everything in that package. With Sonlight Cleaning Services, you can call our client care specialists and build your own box with only those services you want and need! And all that money you’re saving? Buy someone you love some chocolate! (by Laura Pulliam)
