How Should My Business Respond to Ever-Changing COVID-19 Information

How Should My Business Respond to Ever-Changing COVID-19 Information

If you regularly check a social media website, chances are that over the past week or two, you’ve seen an attention grabbing headline such as this: “CDC Quietly Adjusts COVID-19 Cause of Death Numbers to a Mere Six Percent!” This kind of click-bait journalism (if so worthy a word can be used to describe many of these articles) is nothing new. However, in an anxiety-heightened cultural climate, such as that brought about by a global pandemic, these types of headlines are nothing short of misleading and — quite possibly — harmful to readers.

You may have noticed the effects of this back-and-forth information onslaught on your own life over the past few months. If you’re not sure, take a moment to do a quick self-evaluation. In the past six months, have you:

  • noticed feelings of depression or anxiety
  • had more aches and pains than usual
  • struggled to fall asleep or stay asleep
  • experienced indigestion or skin rashes
  • had trouble remembering something or staying focused
  • gained a few pounds

Believe it or not, every single one of these issues can be triggered by an excess of stress. Cortisol, the body’s stress hormone, is extremely useful when communicating with our adrenal glands in order to get us out of danger. If you’ve ever seen a snake while out hiking, you know exactly how this “fight or flight” hormone is supposed to work! A quick shot of adrenaline to our system, and our body is ready to skedaddle away from that snake!

The stress hormone can be life saving in certain scenarios. But that same hormone can be a detriment to our health when we find ourselves chronically exposed to a stress-triggering environment, such as our current world health situation puts us all at risk for experiencing. The back-and-forth game that “clickbait” headlines want you to play is nothing short of bad for your mind and body!

Are you currently overseeing the reopening of a business, educational facility, financial institution, office building, church, or financial institution? No doubt you are feeling the stress of the onslaught of information, especially when so-called “new” information hits the headlines and you begin second guessing your reopening plan, especially in regards to sanitizing.

If you’re feeling the effects of stress, it’s time to take a deep breath (or a few deep breaths!) then pick up the phone and call Sonlight Cleaning Services. Located in and serving the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex for over 30 years, we’re deeply devoted to our city and its success through this pandemic. We’ve been hit hard as a community, but we won’t give up. At Sonlight, we’ve always been deeply committed to helping organizations in our community stay clean and sanitized (after all, we’ve been through over 30 flu seasons as a company!). And we’ll be here for you through all the ups and downs we’re sure to experience in the coming weeks and months.

Forget about the back-and-forth game the media wants to play and trust us when we say that you’ll never regret going with Sonlight for all of your commercial cleaning needs. The health and safety of our employees and clients has always been our top priority and no amount of so-called “new” data will ever change our passion for serving YOU. Give Sonlight a call for your customized cleaning plan today!
