Holiday parties–and the jokes that oftentimes surround them–are synonymous with the Christmas season. Whether you work in a school, church, medical office, industrial building, financial institution, small or large business, chances are there is a party on the books for sometime over the next few weeks. Special traditions are often fostered by the unique camaraderie that can happen in the close quarters of the office.
A TV show by the same name has a particularly humorous take on holiday parties, devoting multiple episodes to the occasion over the course of its run. In this series, the boss is often portrayed by a somewhat out-of-touch character and co-workers have varying degrees of love/hate relationships. In total, this TV series had seven episodes devoted to the quintessential office party. Every episode included some type of humorous hyperbole–hopefully nothing like any holiday party you’ve attended! From gift exchange gone wrong to co-workers fighting over who gets to dress up as Santa, no party ever seemed to go according to plan.
But as the holiday party wraps up, no matter the chaos that has occurred, all differences tend to be put aside by the end of the episode. Relationships are mended and storylines are wrapped up… all against the backdrop of an office that is left in utter chaos! Cups strewn about, tinsel scattered on chairs, glitter on the ground. Yet on Monday morning when the cast reappears, everything seems to be miraculously back in order.
As you prepare for your staff holiday party, hopefully nothing will be quite so dramatic in your office as it is on TV! Yet the one thing you will probably have in common is that your office will probably need a good cleaning once the partygoers have parted.
A few tips that can help keep the chaos to a minimum include adding a few extra trash cans, laying down a mat under the drink dispenser, and using plastic tablecloths to speed the cleanup process. Keeping a box of industrial wipes handy for spills is a good idea, too.
These few preventative tips will help, but no matter how carefully you prepare, cleanup will still be in order. When you contract your regular janitorial cleaning services through Sonlight Cleaning Services, you don’t have to stress about how things will look on Monday. In addition to everyday cleaning, and being a Jan-San supplier (for things like those industrial wipes!), we offer add-on services such as special event cleaning so that, no matter how festive your team gets with the glitter, your building will look good-as-new when you show up for work on Monday morning.
